There's a situation going on in my life, in which I will go in to at a later date, that has brought about much stress and frustration.Unfortunately, because of the situation (and not the guy from Jersey Shore *shudder*), I can't cut off the person. I have to maintain contact with them, which adds to the frustration.
This morning I received a couple of text messages which started off about as normal as you can get from them. After a few replies between the two of us, they decided to twist things around. I hate liars. I hate manipulators, and I especially hate what this person tries to do.
Example: They offer you help. You refuse it. Not because you are trying to single out that person for refusal, but because you genuinely don't need the help. Later on they bring it up claiming that you refused their help as a direct sign that you want nothing to do with them and said that you didn't want them to partake in your happiness.
That sure is a lot to interpret from a simple "no thank you, but if I need anything I'll let you know."
Anyways, they became the guest of honor at their own personal pity party and tried to become this martyr. I'm still relatively young, but I'm not stupid. It was clear what they were trying to do, and at 9 in the morning, I wasn't having it. That meant my inner Evil Overlord came out and had to knock them down a few pegs. After just one text destroying their pathetic "argument," if you can even call it that, they backed down and retreated.
I don't like being a bully, but I especially don't like having words put in to my mouth, so I did what needed to be done. It's only a matter of time before they try and start up again with their childish behavior, and the sad part is that I don't see it stopping any time soon.
